Tottenham fans want Jack Clarke to be recalled and given a chance in the first-team

Tottenham have reportedly held talks over the possibility of recalling Jack Clarke from his loan at Leeds, and Spurs fans hope it means he will get a chance in the first-team.

However, Football Insider suggest that the club’s plan is to loan him elsewhere with the aim to get more game time than he is currently, having only played 115 minutes at Elland Road this term.

That means there is a risk of him stagnating and not developing under Marcelo Bielsa in the way Spurs would have wished, having signed him from the Whites for £11.5m this summer on the basis that he will develop into a top-level player.

Many fans think he is worthy of being brought back and placed in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad straight away due to the current underperformance of the team.

That could be a good option for Spurs given the numerous youngsters who have improved under the Argentine, including Harry Winks who is a regular fixture in the starting XI these days, but given their current predicament they may feel it is not the right environment for a new young player to cut his teeth.

Here is some of the reaction of supporters calling for Clarke to be given a first-team opportunity.

Crystal Palace fans thought Patrick van Aanholt was going to miss his penalty

Some Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to reveal that they thought Patrick van Aanholt was going to miss his penalty against West Ham.The Netherlands international stepped up after Declan Rice was adjudged to have handled in the area, with usual penalty taker Luka Milivojevic missing through suspension.

It was the former Chelsea and Sunderland man who grabbed the ball for what would be his first ever attempt for the Eagles from 12 yards, and he made no mistake with a cool finish into the bottom left corner.

His strike handed Palace an equaliser, before they went on to win it thanks to Jordan Ayew’s predatory 87th minute effort – albeit after a lengthy VAR wait.

Despite the fact that van Aanholt scored, however, some Palace fans on Twitter weren’t too confident in the Dutchman finding the net before he slotted it home.

Let’s take a look at some of the Twitter reaction…

Man United vs Liverpool left Piers Morgan absolutely raging about VAR

Video assistant referee hasn’t made any friends after another eventful weekend in the Premier League.Leaving Jurgen Klopp on the verge of self-combustion, after Marcus Rashford’s goal was allowed to stand despite a dubious tackle on Divock Origi in the build-up, VAR was up to no good again during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool.Watch Manchester United Live Streams With StreamFootball.tv Below

Later in the game, Liverpool found themselves on the wrong end a VAR decision after Sadio Mane was deemed to have handled the ball before putting the ball past David de Gea. When the ‘no goal’ decision was announced, the roar from the Old Trafford crowd was as loud as it had been when Rashford bagged the opener.

Unlike a broken clock, which is occasionally right, Piers Morgan typically bounces between ‘wrong’ and ‘very wrong’. In his latest tweet, he might – for once – have had a valid point…

QPR’s interest in Hickey may suggest Warburton is preparing for life without Manning

This article is part of Football FanCast’s Transfer Focus series, which provides opinion and analysis on recent transfer news…

According to The Daily Record, QPR are weighing up a £1.5m January bid for Hearts wonderkid Aaron Hickey.

What’s the word, then?

Well, the R’s are reportedly keeping tabs on the 17-year-old who is making excellent progress with the Scottish Premiership side.

Hickey became the youngest ever player to start a Scottish Cup final when he lined up at left-back against Celtic at the end of last season, and his fine performances have attracted the interest of Scottish giants Rangers.

Back-to-back Premier League champions Manchester City are also looking at the teenager, who has one league goal in seven appearances so far this season.

Preparing for life without Ryan Manning

Another left-back who has been putting in some consistently fine performances of late is QPR’s very own Ryan Manning.

The 23-year-old has scored one goal and registered three assists in 12 Championship appearances this season, playing every minute of the campaign so far under Warburton.

However, his excellent showings have attracted the interest of Premier League side Southampton, who are reportedly keen to take advantage of the Irishman’s contract situation at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium – the Saints believe that they can get him for a cut-price fee with Manning’s contract set to expire next summer.

Newcastle are also interested in the left-back, and it remains to be seen whether or not Manning is tempted by his top-flight admirers.

You might argue that a 17-year-old isn’t yet capable of walking into a Championship XI and replacing one of the best players in that side, although Hickey’s excellent progress with Hearts and the pedigree of the sides who are interested in him suggests he has something special about him.

Manning remains a QPR player, while Hickey is still contracted to Hearts, but QPR’s interest in the latter at a time when Premier League sides are sniffing around the former is certainly interesting.

Real Madrid can now finally afford to sell Gareth Bale

This article is part of Football FanCast’s Opinion series, which provides analysis, insight and opinion on any issue within the beautiful game, from Paul Pogba’s haircuts to League Two relegation battles…

After a small period that can only be described as the calm before the storm, the usual roller coaster that is Gareth Bale’s career at Real Madrid is now back in full force.

Even though it did seem like his fortune might be turning at the beginning of the ongoing 2019/20 La Liga season, he’s now practically back to where he was a couple of months ago – blacklisted and awaiting a potential transfer in the near future.

At least that’s what the recent reports coming from AS are suggesting and seeing how he’s almost missed the same amount of games he’s played this season so far, this wouldn’t really be that big of a surprise if it came true.

But one thing that somehow kept Real Madrid second-guessing their decision to let the 30-year-old Welshman go was their inability to find him a suitable replacement, as the same source suggests as well.

After all, when he was fit and motivated, just like it was the case at the beginning of the campaign, he immediately proved that there is still quality in his feet.

In the first three games of the new season, Bale bagged two goals and one assist to his name but as his absences started mounting, the general contribution dipped significantly.

Since then, he only managed to register one more assist but that was mostly it as far as his performances went.

But looking at Los Blancos’s squad that they have on their hands, the fear of losing someone as influential as Bale should not be that big.

The main reason for that is actually the 18-year-old prodigy, Rodrygo.

Interestingly enough, in Real Madrid’s last Champions League clash, it was the young Brazilian who replaced Bale on the pitch and on that right-wing and needless to say, he made a big statement with his display.

This should be extremely encouraging for Zinedine Zidane since between Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior, the Welshman’s spot seems rather well covered for the future.

Of course, we are talking about extremely young players replacing a veteran of the game but they’ve already proved to their coach they can be counted on.

If the Galacticos really want to offload Bale, now is the right time to do it – he is still worth £54m according to Transfermarkt, his unhappiness at the club is not really news anymore and most importantly, there are people capable of replacing him once he leaves.

All things considered, Real Madrid can finally afford to part ways with their outcast and live to tell the tale.

Let’s see if they finally decide to pull the trigger.

Everton fans slam Michael Keane after Brighton defeat

Everton fans have slammed Michael Keane after the club fell to a dispiriting 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

The Toffees have now won just one of their last six games in the Premier League, with that victory coming last week against West Ham United.

This weekend, however, they fell behind to a Pascal Gross strike before an Adam Webster own goal brought them level.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave Marco Silva’s side the lead but a controversial penalty – given after Keane tangled with Aaron Connolly in the box – from Neal Maupay and an injury-time Lucas Digne own goal consigned the Toffees to defeat.

And fans took a particularly hard stance on Keane’s display following the full-time whistle.

Indeed, per WhoScored, the 26-year-old failed to win a single tackle, while he was also dribbled past once and won just one aerial duel.

Spurs fans will love seeing this image from Red Star victory

Son Heung-Min endured an anguished weekend.

The South Korea international had registered an assist against Everton, putting the ball on a plate for Dele Alli to open the scoring at Goodison Park.

But then it all came crashing down.

Andre Gomes looked to break away on the left flank and Son brought him down.

It’s the kind of tackle that is ten-a-penny in the Premier League and referee Martin Atkinson initially looked poised to show the South Korea international a yellow card.

But as Gomes went down, his ankle twisted ghoulishly, leaving him with a fracture-dislocation and in need of a stretcher.

Son was distraught, crying upon seeing the impact of the injury on his Portuguese counterpart. Atkinson showed him a red card. He probably wouldn’t have been able to carry on, anyway, so heartbroken did he seem.

However, he returned to action on Wednesday evening, scoring twice as Spurs thumped Red Star Belgrade 4-0, leading to the image below…

Son and his manager, Mauricio Pochettino, arm in arm, with smiles etched across their faces.

The image comes with an added poignancy after Son’s distressed reaction to Gomes’ injury; he even refused to celebrate his goals in a gesture that he revealed was aimed towards the Toffees ace.

It has been a while since Spurs have hit any kind of form and their win on Wednesday was their first in three outings in all competitions.

Son, of course, is a remarkably popular member of the squad – both Dele Alli and Harry Kane revealed they attempted to comfort him on Sunday – and fans will surely have loved seeing him back to his smiley self.

They will hope that can continue this weekend, when Sheffield United visit north London.

Tottenham Hotspur fans react as club join hunt for FC Metz’s Habib Diallo

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on social media to reports by TEAMtalk, after the North London outfit were linked with FC Metz striker Habib Diallo.

It is understood that Spurs, along with Chelsea, Watford, Newcastle, Leicester and Norwich City, have watched Diallo in recent weeks, and could present a big-money offer for the 24-year-old in January.

The forward has been a mainstay of Vincent Hognon’s side at the Saint-Symphorien Stadium this season, playing the full ninety minutes in 12 of his 13 Ligue 1 appearances.

Diallo has scored eight times in the French top-flight, and captained Metz on three occasions as Les Grenats beat AS Saint-Etienne and FC Nantes while being held to a draw at home to Toulouse.

Only Olympique Lyonnais’ Memphis Depay and AS Monaco’s Wissam Ben Yedder have scored more goals in Ligue 1 than Diallo so far this season, leading to Metz placing a price tag of around £10million on the Senegal forward.

Diallo’s haul of goals accounts for 73% of Metz’s total strikes so far this season, as they sit 17th in the table and one point above the relegation play-off spot currently occupied by Dijon FCO.

Metz secured their promotion into Ligue 1 last season after Diallo struck 26 goals in 37 second-tier fixtures, and made his international debut last November before earning his second cap against Brazil this October.

Here are some of the reactions shared to TEAMtalk’s report…

Tottenham fans don’t want club to make Mario Mandzukic move

Tottenham Hotspur fans have warned the club off signing Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.

Calciomercato have reported that Spurs are interested in securing the signature of the forward, along with Manchester United and West Ham United, as the January transfer window looms.

Spurs, of course, don’t have much back-up to out-and-out centre-forward Harry Kane, with only the 17-year-old Troy Parrott another classic forward in the mould of the England captain.

Nevertheless, supporters are not interested in the prospect of beating their Premier League rivals to the punch for the little-used 33-year-old.

Mandzukic scored 10 goals last season but has yet to make a single appearance under manager Maurizio Sarri in 2019/20.

Of course, there is an irony to this, with Spurs having attempted to sign the Croatia international’s club team-mate, Paulo Dybala, in the summer, only for the deal to fall through on transfer deadline day.
